Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, United States

Minimum qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED equivalent

· Valid Driver’s License

Preferred qualifications:

• Associate degree or completion of Technical School and Apprenticeship program or equivalent in training, experience, and education

• At least 2 years of industrial experience in electrical support and maintenance functions

• Must have been employed as an electrician or electrician apprentice within the past 18 months

• Must be knowledgeable of OSHA safety requirements, especially those related to electrical operations and components

• Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, carpentry, or related field preferred

• Able to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints

• Working knowledge of three-phase motors, programmable controls, circuits, and National Electrical Code

Physical Demands:

· Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

· Requires good manual skills (gross and fine finger dexterity).

· Capable of squatting, bending, and reaching.

· Must be capable of climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching on an occasional basis.

· Able to work 12+ hours if needed.


· Ability to establish rapport and trust with residential service customers.

· Ability to estimate many electrical needs/enhancements for residential homes.

· Fundamental troubleshooting of 120v/240v electrical circuits/service

· Base level National Electric Code understanding for electrical circuits safety devices, services in residential homes.

· Base level electrical installation ability; smoke alarms, GFCIs, breakers, PUC conduit, larger electrical service items (panels, meters, risers a plus)

· Ownership of hand tool, small drill motor, hammer drill, screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers, level, tape measure.

· Ability to identify electrical hazardous aspects located in homes, identify non-UL equipment, code violations while offering options/solutions/peace of mind to client for repairs/replacement (trainable.

· Excellent communication w/office, management, install crews from job start to finish.

· Clean and professional appearance
